Hi there, I'm Stephen Fourie, an events, portrait and commercial photographer. My stories are told through photographs.

During late 1993 I bought a photography book with music pictures by Linda McCartney and a few months later I got my first camera. Fast forward 23 years and I find myself in London photographing some of the biggest names in the music industry. Having completed a course at the London School of Photography, I switched to digital camera equipment and started marketing myself as an independent music photographer with various PR and photography agents around London. It was a hard slog to keep my independence, but my efforts returned dividends before the harsh world of music photography stifled my enthusiasm.

From Iron Maiden to Kiss, Joe Satriani to Joe Bonamassa, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to Guns n’ Roses, Paloma Faith to Beth Hart, I’ve photographed them all. My photographs have been published in various UK music magazines – Blues in Britain (front cover twice), Classic Rock magazine and Clash magazine to name a few. I’m currently concentrating on portraiture, weddings and corporate events. My cameras of choice are Nikon Z7 and D850 with a range of Nikon precision lenses. I approach my photography in the immortal words of Ansel Adams – “I don’t take a picture, I make one”.

My style of shooting is known as reportage photography or documentary photography. I’ll skip all the clichés - as far as possible I'll try to authentically record your event or story with as little intervention as possible. The less you know about me the better! Of course there are the “formal” photographs, but even these I try to “keep it in the moment”. Should you wish to have your event/story told by me, please contact me now to arrange a conversation/meeting.

Please take a look at the short video clip below, which is a good indication how I capture the mood of an event.
